there is 2 kinds of this what we call the float and the real datatype, this data type store
floating point number or number with decimal.

the difference of this 2 is the float is 8 byte(64 bit) floating point number
and the real is a 4 byte(32 bit) floating point number

here is the example on how to use float in sql server:
CREATE TABLE example_table (
    id INT PRIMARY KEY,
    float_column FLOAT
);

and here is for the real:
CREATE TABLE example_table (
    id INT PRIMARY KEY,
    real_column REAL
);
