You can observe this behavior when you use nextInt() or nextFoo() (except nextLine()) before using nextLine().
What exactly happens is, when you use nextInt(), it reads only the interger you gave as input and it leaves the '/n' that comes when you type enter after typin the integer.
So, the nextLine() you use in the code reads that '/n' input and doesn't accept your actual string input that you provide.
To avoid this there are two solutions
	You can use a nextLine() as a decoy after the nextInt() in which the '/n' is trapped. Then you can use nextLine() for your actual input.
    If you want only a word as input but not a line (with spaces), you can use next() instead of nextLine()
